Web Reference: 作为MS学生，在CMU学习计算机，如果不想水水地就过去的话，确实是要付出很多代价的。还记得有一个段子是说，在美国上大学，study, sleep, social (play) 只能三选二，这在CMU也是成立的。 有人选择1&2，因此就会感觉自己每天都在写作业，都没有什么娱乐活动。 CMU 给出了一个新答案 卡内基梅隆大学（CMU）和纽约大学（NYU）的几位学者发现，在传统的信息论视角下，无法解释现代 AI（尤其是 LLM）中的很多现象——例如合成数据的价值、数据排序对学习的影响，以及模型从简单规则中学习到复杂结构（涌现/归纳）的能力。 CMU SCS的Phd和其他三大也是同一个层次的，只是招的master太多导致学校有点掉价。 匹兹堡这个城市是四大里最不讨好的，本科时候申上四大里不止一所的同学里最后都因为讨厌这个城市选了其他中的一所。
