In 1989 the Voyager 2 space probe flew past Neptune and took the canonical image that we're so used to seeing. BUT the blue colour in that image we're so familiar with is actually a FALSE colour. Not what you'd see with your eyes if you were that close. Now those images have been reprocessed with some new data that allows us to make a TRUE colour image, and it turns out Uranus and Neptunes look more like twins... ** REFERENCES ** Irwin et al.
