YouTube Excerpt: #Functions #SQLTrigger #Azure -- Azure SQL Trigger Binding for Azure Functions enters general availability, and Azure Classic Administrator roles are retiring on 31 August 2024. Hello, this is Nick Hauenstein, and welcome to your Azure Daily Minute for Monday, March 18th, 2024. Last week, the Azure SQL Database team announced that the Azure SQL Trigger Binding for Azure Functions entered general availability. The Azure SQL trigger uses SQL change tracking functionality to monitor a SQL table for changes and trigger a function when a row is created, updated, or deleted. It can be used in many scenarios such as change streaming from an Azure SQL database, participating in event-based architectures, as well as real time updating of web pages and applications. With this update, you now have the ability to create change data streams from your SQL Databases with little to no code. On the 31st of August, 2024, Azure classic administrator roles will be retired. f your organization has active Co-Administrator or Service Admin roles, you’ll need to transition to using Azure role-based access control (RBAC) roles by then. All Azure classic resources and Azure Service Manager will also be retired on that date. You may continue using these Azure classic admin roles until they’re retired. However, starting 3 April 2024, you’ll no longer be able to add new Co-Administrator roles through the Azure portal. That wraps up the Azure Daily Minute for Monday, March 18th, 2024. Until next time, take care and go build great things!
