We live in a mud house with 18" thick walls, which provides a high thermal mass and helps with temperature extremes we get during the day (cold nights, hot days) where we are. The bricks we make are 12" (instead of a 9" red brick). Mud is a very forgiving medium to construct with, and when you make any changes to the structure ... you don't create any debris or rubble ... you can just reuse the mud!
