2nd suspect arrested in deadly shooting at Medusa Restaurant & Lounge in downtown Cleveland

YouTube Excerpt: Members of the U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a second suspect Wednesday in connection with a deadly shooting inside a downtown Cleveland nightclub last month. Ron Christopher Hunter, 29, was taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 6300 block of White Avenue, authorities said. Hunter was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police on a murder charge stemming from the Dec. 7 shooting at Medusa Restaurant & Lounge. The shooting occurred during the early morning hours of Dec. 7 in Cleveland’s downtown entertainment district. Police said officers were flagged down near 1400 St. Clair Ave. and alerted to a man who had been shot inside the club. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and club patrons, the victim — identified as 23-year-old Monte Baker — was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Following the shooting, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force worked alongside Cleveland homicide detectives to identify suspects. Steven Cooperwood, 28, was identified first and arrested without incident on Christmas Eve at a home in the 1600 block of Sunset Avenue in Akron, authorities said.
