Asters are the queens of the fall garden. They bloom in lovely shades of purple, pinks, and white. Many are hardy to zone 4-8 and come in many sizes. Aster Lady in Black is a great aster because it has wonderful dark foliage and beautiful white flowers Aster Little Carlow is a billowing mass of lavender flowers. This is so far my favorite aster. Aster Chieftain is a tall light purple aster that has a light and airy feel to it.
