It allows fast access to the minimum or maximum element. There are two types of binary heaps: Min Heap and Max Heap. Binary heaps are also commonly employed in the heapsort sorting algorithm, which is an in-place algorithm as binary heaps can be implemented as an implicit data structure, storing keys in an array and using their relative positions within that array to represent child–parent relationships. What is Binary Heap? Heap or Binary Heap is a special case of balanced binary tree data structure. It is a complete binary tree structure. Means, all levels of the tree are fully filled except possibly for the last level which has all keys as left as possible.
